Program is sponsored by the American Head and Neck Society Research and Education Foundation. A grant of $5,000 will be awarded to a medical student to cover travel, lodging and food expenses for the summer experience.
This summer program offers the interested candidate the opportunity to work in a Department of Academic Excellence in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology that has an approved Fellowship Training Program from the Advanced Training Council of the AHNS.

Ideally the candidate is between year 1 and 2 of medical school. Some applicants between year 2 and 3 may have the ability to participate as a fellow award winner.

The Ohio State University Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery is offering three away rotation scholarships for under-represented minority medical students for the upcoming academic year. The $1,500 scholarship will be used to help offset cost for travel, lodging and other student needs.
Students applying for one of the three scholarships should be in their fourth year of medical school with plans to apply for an Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) residency position; they should also be interested in rotating at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

The University of Mississippi Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery invites medical students who are members of underrepresented minority groups as defined by the AAMC and are interested in pursuing a career in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery to apply for mentoring clerkshipsTwo types of department-sponsored clerkships are available:
One-month clinical clerkship
A one-month clinical rotation in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery; students must be eligible to participate in clinical rotations at the home medical school.
Three-month research clerkship
Available June through August, a three-month research rotation in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery with optional clinical experience. Open to any medical student following completion of at least one year of medical school education (students may apply for clerkships, with earliest start of clerkship summer M1-M2). Applications and transcripts must be submitted no later than the preceding March 31.

The sub-internship rotation is a 4-week clinical rotation designed for students interested in a career in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The course provides a broad experience in clinical activities, including inpatient and outpatient care, assisting in the operating room, emergency room call, and the consult service. Through this rotation, the student will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the breadth of OHNS and to work with the residents, fellows, and faculty in the Duke Department of Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences.
To facilitate scheduling, students are encouraged to apply to the Sub-Internship early.

The Thomas Jefferson University Department of Otolaryngology offers a year-long research fellowship opportunity for students interested in Otolaryngology. This opportunity provides formal training in clinical and basic science research in any field within the department, including but not limited to, head and neck cancer, rhinology and skull-base surgery, facial plastics, otology and sleep medicine.
In addition to the stipend, an additional scholarship to an underrepresented, minority student will be provided.

The fellowship is geared towards those seeking a research year between their third and fourth years of medical school.

The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Diversity and Inclusion Committee would like to introduce medical students from under-represented minorities (URM) to the field
of of otolaryngology.
The winners will select a program from the list of participating programs to apply for an away rotation. They will receive $1000 to use towards travel, housing or food during their away rotation. They will be required to attend the away rotation.
